pre-visit
 
All services require a complimentary initial interview with you and your pet(s).  Not only does this help me learn about your pets' specific needs, but also helps me become acquainted for when they will be under Paws-itive Pet Sitting's care.  You will need to fill out and sign all paper work including Client Profile, Pet Profile, Policies, Vet Release and a contract (either daily or vacation). 
 

contracts

A signed contract (either daily or vacation), vet release form, client profile and payment in full will be required at the time services are scheduled for new clients.  Reservations are not held until payment in full is received or special arrangements are agreed upon by both parties in writing for new clients. Current clients will only have to fill out the service request to secure a reservation.  Please make sure Paws-itive Pet Sitting has current, up-to-date information.

Paws-itive is a small business with limited scheduling therefore; 1) Any services/reservations cancelled within 72 hours of scheduled visit(s) will NOT be issued a refund 2) All Holiday services/reservations will NOT be issued a refund.  

Return clients can keep their house key on file in our Key Safe. No ID is attached to the key but rather a key chain, color coded to your pet's name and a random number. Paws-itive asks that clients do not leave keys hidden outside as the security of your home and pets are very important to me. Key Return Fee is $6; if you wish your key to be mailed to you, please provide a self addressed, paid envelope to an address other than your home. Upon your arrival, I will mail key back to you.  Paws-itive is not liable for keys lost in the mail.

 

miscellaneous 

Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, Paws-itive Pet Sitting cannot be held responsible for any unusual mishaps (i.e., escaping from the fenced yard, biting, eating strange items, uncrated pets that destroy household items, free-roaming pets that damage inside/outside of home, personal injury/accidental death). We will clean up any mess your pet makes to the best of our ability, but will not be held responsible for the condition of carpeting, flooring, furniture, etc.


Paws-itive Pet Sitting reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time before or during its term if it's determined that your pet poses a danger to the health or safety of herself/himself or others. If concerns prohibit us from caring for your pet, you authorize your pet to be placed in a kennel with all charges to be paid by you.


The client (owner) is responsible for pet-proofing the house, yard and the security fences/gates/latches. Paws-itive Pet Sitting will not be responsible for the safety, liable for the death, injury, disappearance or legal consequences of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

A service charge will apply in the event that Paws-itive Pet Sitting has to run errands to ensure pet's well-being, such as picking up food, litter, etc.

Paws-itive Pet Sitting will water plants if instructed when client is on vacation. However, a green thumb is not guaranteed and Paws-itive Pet Sitting will not be held responsible for condition of plants.

The client agrees to discuss any concerns with Paws-itive Pet Sitting within 24 hours of return after service.

 

winter policies

For our weekday daily dog walks - We can not guarantee service if severe weather has made roads impassable or extremely dangerous for travel.  For the safety and comfort of your pet(s), walks may be shortened if temperatures and/or wind chill are below freezing.  If the walking route (neighborhood sidewalks, roads, grassy areas, parks, etc) is not cleared of snow and/or ice, making walking difficult or dangerous; we will have a potty break and indoor playtime that day instead of our usual walk.  

For our vacation clients - Although Paws-itive Pet Sitting has an AWD/4WD vehicle and will make every effort, Paws-itive Pet Sitting can not guarantee service if roads have become dangerous or impassable due to severe weather.  Paws-itive Pet Sitting will provide service at the first available, safe opportunity.  If you haven't already provided one, we will need a Winter Emergency Contact on file.  This will be a neighbor who has a key and access to your home in the event of severe weather.

Paws-itive Pet Sitting accepts the following types of payment:

Returned check charge is $25 plus all fees incurred.

holidays

Please add $8.50 per visit for the following holidays: New Years Eve, New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 

 

office hours

Paws-itive Pet Sitting office hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  Paws-itive Pet Sitting makes every effort to answer all phone calls, however I may be out on a care visit and will return your message usually within 48 hours.  I usually respond to emails within 24 hours.
